In this era of immediacy, we must ask ourselves: how long does a song truly last? How can its lifespan be measured? When it comes to an authentic composition, it can become an anthem sung by the masses and —in a resounding case of success— it may outlive its own performers. Then, of course, other key elements come into play, such as strategy, timing, and a bit of luck.

But what do we mean when we talk about authenticity? To answer that, we must return to the core of it all: the creative process, that moment when an artist sits down to compose and an idea is born. It is essential to write songs that artists truly identify with, songs that reflect a moment representing them and their way of seeing the world. Only then can they connect with the human condition, allowing the message or the story to resonate with the audience.

In the creative exercise, it is vital to build community: to gather with other creatives and artists, to go out and explore the world, to talk about what we feel and experience, and then return to our center to write about what we have seen. Because it is precisely that story —the human and the real one— that the audience wants to hear and that we want to amplify.

Around that authentic creative process, new paths and ways emerge to reach an audience more effectively and to share a story. In that sense, a song only dies when its audience stops talking about it.
